We’ve Got Something to Show You… a New PathFinder Rack

Aim Lab has recently launched a new self-centering rack for their PathFinder automation systems developed in collaboration with the team at Dienamics, our local injection molding partner. Designed specifically as an input rack for loading sample tubes onto PathFinder, the new self-centering rack uses an eight finger alignment design to help position tubes centrally in each sample well of the rack, improving pick and place reliability while reducing the chance of spillage resulting from collisions.

The rack holds up to 50 sample tubes in various sizes ranging from 12 – 16mm, with a unique poka-yoke feature that ensures the rack is loaded on PathFinder in the correct orientation The racks, are suitable for low-temperature storage (down to -80 degrees C). The new rack takes up the same deck space as the existing PathFinder 50 well rack and can be used on PathFinder systems fitted with high force grippers. From October 2019, all new PathFinder 900, 350D and 450S models will be supplied with a number of the self-centering PathFinder racks in their start-up kits.
